Youngster Reynold Cheruiyot is banking on prayers from his wife and parents to do better in his debut at the Paris Olympic Games.
The 20-year-old noted that his family has been a great pillar in his career success so far and as he heads to the Olympic Games, they continue to hold his hand.
The youngster added that they accompanied him to the airport and prayed for him before he departed for Paris. They will be expecting him to impress on the Olympic stage.

Timothy Cheruiyot is not shaken by the presence of defending champion Jakob Ingebritsen as he aims to go one place better at the Paris Olympics Games.

“My conversations with my family have been okay and she (my wife) always prays for me and wants the best for me. My team has also been supportive. My wife and my parents have held my hand and when we were at the airport, we talked about a lot of things and they are expecting good things,” Cheruiyot said.
He has also exuded confidence in tackling Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Josh Kerr, and Co at the Paris Olympics. Cheruiyot noted that his experience from the World Championships was an eye opener and he has now gotten the skills in running on the global stage.
The world under-20 1500m champion also extended gratitude to God for walking with him and enabling him to make the Olympic team at a young age.
“My training has been okay and I’m ready to compete against my rivals…last year I was at the World Championships and it was a bit tricky for me but I thank God for making the final. I was not used to running for two consecutive days, the reason behind my performance in Budapest,” he said.
“However, I thank God that I was able to make the final and my aim at this Olympic Games is to get to the final and we shall see how things go. Making my Olympic debut is a blessing because it was not easy and I thank God and I’m ready to represent the country.”
The Kip Keino Classic 1500m champion also noted that he will work together with Olympic silver medallist Timothy Cheruiyot and Africa 1500m champion Brian Komen once they get to the final.

Timothy Cheruiyot has finally reacted to Jakob Ingebrigtsen's dive at the Diamond League Meeting in Oslo and revealed what the Norwegian told him when they met at the gym the next day.
He disclosed that they are yet to select a strategy to be used to silence ther opponents but once they all get to the final, they will outline a plan to shine on the stage.
Cheruiyot also promised to bring home a medal if all goes well, revealing that Timothy also has the experience sine he has raced at the Olympic Games before.
“We have planned that everyone will work hard in the preliminaries and semifinal and then when we get to the final, we shall work together to make sure we dethrone the champions. For now, we are yet to plan on a strategy but we shall come up with one once we get to the final,” he said.
