Alexander Mutiso has revealed the fuel propelling him to go for his first Olympic title and stop Eliud Kipchoge's dominance at the Olympic Games in Paris, France.
Newly-crowned London Marathon champion Alexander Mutiso will be targeting his first Olympic title as he heads to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games scheduled for later this year.
Mutiso is bullish ahead of the event despite being joined by the likes of two-time Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge and reigning Tokyo Marathon champion Benson Kipruto.

Defending champions Eliud Kipchoge and Peres Jepchichir have been named in Kenya’s final Olympic marathon team with Hellen Obiri, Benson Kipruto among those selected.
After beating legendary marathoner Kenenisa Bekele to take the London Marathon crown, he admitted that he is highly charged up and motivated to do well and claim the Olympic title.

“I got the motivation to win the Olympics after winning my first major marathon…so, I will train for it and I believe that in all things, God is with us,” Mutiso said.
The Kenyan also extended a hand of gratitude to the National Olympic Committee of Kenya and Athletics Kenya for including him in the history-making team. He disclosed that the team has great athletes and he is willing to draw positives from them in order to do well.

London Marathon champion Alexander Munyao dedicates victory to late Kelvin Kiptum
Munyao has dedicated his victory in London to the late Kelvin Kiptum.
“I’m thankful to the Olympics committee and Athletics Kenya for selecting me to represent Kenya in the Olympic Games. Because we have seniors, Eliud Kipchoge and others, we shall be confident to do the best so I’m thankful to be selected in this team,” Mutiso said.
Meanwhile, Mutiso made a name for himself following his victory at the 2023 Prague Marathon and later finishing second at the Valencia Marathon.
In his full marathon debut at the 2022 Valencia Marathon where the late Kelvin Kiptum was also debuting, Munyao finished an impressive third.
