Letsile Tebogo's potential threat at the Olympic Games has fired warning shots at the youngster who claimed he is yet to start training.

Reigning World 100m silver medallist Letsile Tebogo is gearing up for his maiden appearance at the Olympic Games and he faces a stern test.

The 20-year-old, however, took to his X (Twitter) handle to complain that he does not have the psyche to start his training and was asking for motivation ahead of the busy season.

In the post, he said: “Can someone give me motivation to start training,” he, posted, adding crying emojis at the end of the statement.

Former world 200m silver medallist Kenny Bednarek, one of his closest challengers, commented on his tweet saying: “I’m going for gold.”

Tebogo, the world 200m bronze medallist, replied to his comment saying: “That’s more than enough.”

Meanwhile, Tebogo has enjoyed a blissful track season in 2023, becoming the first African to win a medal in the 100m at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

The reigning World Under-20 100m champion outclassed the senior athletes to finish second behind Noah Lyles in the race. He clocked a Personal Best time of 9.88. He also extended the winning streak to the 200m race where he finished third.

Tebogo also won the Diamond League Meeting in London in a Personal Best time and an African record time of 19.50. He will surely be hoping to extend the winning streak to the Olympic Games next year and also make history.
