Amos Serem has opened up on his mindset changed after failing to make the cut to the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary last year.
After clinching a bronze medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Amos Serem went undercover and was not very competitive in 2023, missing out on the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
The former World Under-20 3000m Steeplechase champion explained that after the show in Birmingham, he had to go back to the drawing board and evaluate his performance before coming back.
Serem noted that he had to work on his speed and endurance and he expressed his satisfaction with the major shift his body is taking.

Isaac Omurwa aspires to join brother Ferdinand Omanyala at the World Relays in Bahamas.
“After the Commonwealth Games, I had to come back and check on what happened during the race and what was setting him back.
“I found out that I had a problem with my speed and I started working on my endurance and speed and I have noted major changes,” Serem said.

ATHLETICS Daniel Simiu targets historic victory at Okpekpe Race amidst high expectations
Daniel Simiu aims to defend his title and make history at the Okpekpe 10km Road Race in Nigeria.
He floored his compatriots during the national trials, winning in a time of 8:22.72 ahead of Simon Koech and his younger brother Edmund Serem.
He then extended the winning streak to the continental showpiece, finishing second behind Samuel Firewu in a time of 8:25.77.
Firewu won the race after clocking an impressive time of 8:24.30 with Koech completing the podium after clocking 8:26.19. Edmund, Serem’s brother, managed to clock 8:31.21 for a sixth-place finish in the tight race.
