Dina Asher-Smith continues impressive form to the 2023 season, plus other results from the World Indoor Tour in Karlsruhe.
British star athlete Dina Asher-Smith is a woman in form this indoor season, defeating a stacked field comprising World Indoor Champion Mujinga Kambundji and indoor specialist Ewa Swaboda at the World Athletics Indoor Tour in Karlsruhe.
Asher-Smith made her intentions known of winning when she first clocked a Personal Best (PB) of 7.07s, easily winning her qualifying heat ahead of Kambundji with 7.15s.

Then in the final, with a great start and holding off the challenge from Swoboda, she lowered it to a massive new PB and National Record (NR) of 7.04s; erasing Asha Philips British record set six years ago and equalling Irina Privalova's Meeting Record (MR).
Swoboda finished second in 7.09s and Kambundji third in 7.11s - both clocking Seasons Best (SB).
A massive result from the speedster, who now owns the NR in the 60m, 100m and 200m outdoors.

In the men's pole vault, KC Lightfoot soared to a world-leading height of 5.83m to win the event.

The American won on countback ahead of Kurtis Marschall and Emmanouil Karalis with a Greek NR - both jumped the same height.
Spain went 1-2 in the men's 60m Hurdles final, as Enrique Llopis led with an SB of 7.57s from Asier Martinez clocking the same time, while Jakub Szymanski settled for third in 7.60s.

Anita Horvat won the women's 800m, coming from behind to clock a world lead of 2:00.44, edging Freweyni Haliu, who clocked a PB of 2:00.46. Lore Hoffmann was third in an SB of 2:01.40.

George Mills ran a PB and world lead of 3:35.88 to win the men's 1500m, beating Isaac Nader, who ran 3:37.29, while Federico Riva placed third with 3:37.36.
In the 400m final, Benjamin Lobo won in 46.45s, Oscar Husillos second in 46.63s, and Alexander Doom third in 46.68s.
Meanwhile, Ivana Vuleta kicked off her season with a win and world lead of 6.76m in the women's long jump final. She defeated Agate de Sousa with a distance of 6.66m, while Maryse Luzolo finished third with a PB of 6.62m.

Also, Liadagmis Povea jumped a new world lead and PB of 16.64m for victory in the women's triple jump, ahead of Leyanis Perez with 14.45m and Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk's 14.41m.

Auriol Dongmo won the women's shot put with a best throw of 18.90m. Sarah Mitton was second with 18.88m, while Daniel Thomas-Dodd, who was third threw 18.77m.
