Social media voting for World Athletics Athlete of the Year Awards nominees will close on Sunday and here is how you can support Faith Kipyegon, Beatrice Chebet and Emmanuel Wanyonyi.
The public voting exercise for the nominees of the World Athletics Athlete of the Year Award will close on Sunday October 27 with three Kenyans in the running for the prestigious recognition.
Faith Kipyegon, Beatrice Chebet and Emmanuel Wanyonyi are among the nominees for the World Athlete of the Year track in both female and male categories and Kenyans on social media can play a big part in helping them win, given the public vote will count for 25 percent of the final result.
The system for selecting the award winners has changed for 2024. Like last year, there will be three separate awards for men and three for women, recognising the athletes of the year for track, field and out-of-stadium events. There will also be men’s and women’s awards for an overall World Athlete of the Year.
