Athletics Kenya will have to wait a bit longer to host the World Championships after World Athletics announced a new host for the 2027 edition of the event.
“On the side of athletics, once we give them the 30 slots, and you look at them, God-willing there will be number ones as far as our trials will be concerned then we hope the number ones will do their duties diligently.
“We cannot answer for those other sports like boxing. However, as we do our part as athletics, we also expect the other federations to do their best to deliver,” he said.
Meanwhile, during the previous edition of the event in 2019, Kenya managed to send 61 athletes who represented the country well and jetted back with 20 medals (10 gold, 7 silver, and 3 bronze).
