Double Olympic champion Beatrice Chebet has received more honours after bagging another prestigious awards, noting that it has motivated her to keep going.
Beatrice Chebet has continued winning on and off the track after bagging the LG/SJAK Sports Personality of the Month of August.
It was evident that the Kenyan distance sensation would be awarded the honours following her impressive run at the Paris Olympic Games. She made history as the first Kenyan woman to claim the women’s 10,000m title in just but her third professional 10,000m race since she started her career.
The 24-year-old continued her impressive streak to the 5,000m, where she claimed top honours racing on the purple track at the Stade de France.

Beatrice Chebet outlines ambitious plans following her 5000m Diamond League trophy victory
Beatrice Chebet concluded her impressive 2024 season with record-breaking performances, Olympic golds, and securing the Diamond League Trophy, celebrating her success.
Following her exploits, she was awarded a personalised trophy and an LG NanoCell TV to honour her hard work. This marks the second time she is receiving the award this season after claiming also winning it in May. She was awarded after winning the Prefontaine Classic in a world record time.
Upon being awarded, the world 5,000m bronze medallist was over the moon, noting that it was a source of motivation for her to continue doing well on the track and coming back to claim the monthly award.
“I just want to say thank you for winning this trophy and the award…I just want to say that the season has been good for me. It was an amazing season from winning the World Cross Country to winning the Diamond League trophy,” Chebet said.
“Being a debutant in the Olympics and winning the 5000m and 10,000m was a blessing. This has made me more motivated because it’s like making history for my country and I will forever be remembered. I’m so happy and continue supporting us. We are not tired of coming here and we shall continue taking more trophies and awards.”
After the Paris Olympic Games, the former world 5000m silver medallist continued her winning streak to claim the win at the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich. The Commonwealth Games champion rounded up the track season with the Diamond League trophy in the 5000m in Brussels.
On his part, LG’s Chief finance officer for East Africa Sanghyuk Woo lauded Chebet for her dominant performance, noting that she did incredibly well and deserved the award.

Fred Kerley has supported Letsile Tebogo in pleading with World Athletics to bring back an athletics competition that was done away with in 2020.
