She then competed in the 1,500m at the Kenya Police Championships where she displayed class to win the race. Her next port of call is the Diamond League Meeting in the Scandinavian country where she intends to turn heads as she competes in the 3,000m.
“I competed in the 1,500m to gauge how my body feels and also improve my speed. I am happy with the time I posted because it was my first time racing in the 1,500m. When I go to Oslo, I want to set a new Personal Best time, that’s my main goal,” Chebet said.
Her PB in the 3,000m currently stands at 8:27.14 and she will be campaigning to shave off some seconds from the time.
Going forward, the 23-year-old will be hoping to make a mark at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary where she will be competing in the 5,000m.
