World 5,000m silver medalist Beatrice Chebet has explained how she was left confused by her good time after recording a personal best to finish second at the London Diamond League on Sunday.
Chebet saved the best for last as she sprinted to the finish line to beat Olympic champion Sifan Hassan to second place behind world champion Gudaf Tsegay of Ethiopia.

“I'm so happy but very confused, I didn't expect it. 14:12 from 14:34 is an amazing result, my target was to come and run my personal best,” said an ecstatic Chebet.

The Kenyan saved the best for last as she defeated the Olympic champion to maintain her hot streak this season.
Hassan had looked on course to winning the race, having taken the lead on the back straight of the final lap, but she ran out of gas in the final 100m when Tsegay overtook her before Chebet also surged ahead.
The race gave fans a sneak preview of what to expect at next month’s World Championships in Budapest, Hungary where Chebet, Hassan and Tsegay will square it out in the 5,000m alongside world record holder Faith Kipyegon.
