Hundreds of mourners, including fans family, friends, teammates and others from Kenya and Uganda graced the burial ceremony.
After weeks of waiting, Ugandan long-distance runner Benjamin Kiplagat was finally laid to rest in at his ancestral home in Kamendi village, Transzoia, Kenya on Friday.
The decision to have Kiplagat buried in Kenya instead of Uganda, followed a series of family meetings.
Hundreds of mourners, including fans family, friends, teammates and others from Kenya and Uganda graced the burial ceremony.
In attendance long-distance icons Eliud Kipchoge and Faith Kipyegon from Kenya and Uganda's Joshua Cheptegei, who joined the rest of the mourners to send off Kiplagat.
As they paid their tributes, athletes pledged to take care of Kiplagat's family, but also tasked the Kenyan Police to ensure that justice is served.
It should be noted that Kiplagat was murdered by stabbing a fortnight back in Kenya.
