The Kenya Sevens Rugby national team was the first to bow out of the Olympic Games, finishing ninth as France impressed on home turf. Jerotich and Alexandra Ndolo also exited the stage with no medals but tons of experience.
Track and field was the only category that earned Kenya medals and secured the second position on the medal table behind Team USA. Kenya also topped the medal standings in Africa. Overall, Team Kenya finished 17th with 11 medals.
