Olympics champion Noah Lyles has hit out at police in the US over the manner they arrested NFL star Tyreek Hill who has been engaged in a public feud with him over a possible sprint challenge.
Olympics 100m champion Noah Lyles has expressed his disappointment in the manner in which Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was arrested on Sunday before his team’ season opener.
A video on ESPN has showed Hill lying on his front on the ground being handcuffed by police near to the Dolphins' Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday for an alleged traffic offence.
Lyles fumed at what he felt is discrimination towards Hill given the manner of his arrest and how he was handled by the Police.
“Disgusting. Tyreek said something very important in his post-game interview. What if it wasn’t him. This is what they do to us when they feel they might get in trouble. What do you think they do to us when they know they won’t get in trouble?” Lyles posed on X.
The NFL star was later released and scored a touchdown in a 20-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, celebrating by pretending to be placed in handcuffs.
Hill had allegedly been arrested for speeding and several of his Dolphins team-mates had to stop and offer support.
