Kenyan sports legend Dennis Oliech's impassioned appeal sparks curiosity as the nation awaits his government's demand with bated breath.
She opened her 100m season with a win at the JAAA All Comers Meet before finishing fifth at the Jamaican Championships and therefore missing out on an individual spot at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
She then headed to the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich where she finished third before clocking her first sub-11 to win the Gala dei Castelli.
The 31-year-old then competed at the Diamond League Meeting at Brussels where she won the race before finishing third at the Prefontaine Classic.
The multiple Olympic champion believes that ending her season on a high is a huge motivation ahead of her title defense quest in Paris next year.
“I think I’ve overcome injuries and I’m grateful to close the season with those times…this has put me in a good position ahead of next year,” she said.
She added that she had big ambitions going into the Diamond League final since she was hoping to run a Personal Best time but unfortunately she was unsuccessful in achieving her target.
Thompson is regarded as the fastest woman alive with a PB time of 10.54 that she ran to win the 2021 Prefontaine Classic.
