Noah Lyles and Gabby Thomas headline USA team to World Relays Championships
Team USA has named a strong squad to the World Relays Championships with Noah Lyles and Gabby Thomas among the star names selected.
Kipchoge last competed in March at the Tokyo Marathon where he finished an uncharacteristic 10th which is considered as a rare dip in his otherwise stellar career.
Reflecting on his performance, Kipchoge expressed a renewed focus on what may be his most challenging goal yet: securing an unprecedented third consecutive Olympic marathon gold medal.
"I trust I will make it to the Olympics for my fifth appearance and that is why I want to put all my mind, my heart, and my thoughts into preparations,” said Kipchoge as per Daily Nation.
“That is why I won’t have any other engagements up until Paris.”

Britain’s greatest female sprinter reveals how she is loving her new life in America

Kipchoge’s decision not to compete in any races is also influenced by the intense competition expected at the Paris Olympics.
With strong contenders from Ethiopia, Uganda, and the United States, Kipchoge acknowledges the need for undivided attention to his training and strategy.
“There is competition everywhere with athletes from 106 countries set to compete. Everybody has an equal opportunity and is a champion in their own right. It will be suicidal to underrate anyone," he commented during a recent gathering at the National Olympic Committee of Kenya.

“You see, I can’t build roads and bridges hence this is the only way I can give back to our country and remain patriotic," he added.
