“People who have strong mindsets make instant decisions…It’s about me, it’s me, you know, and this is what I want.

“The other one with a less strong mindset will always seek assurance from third parties…it’s a reflection of what happens in life.

“A strong mindset determines a lot and I see it a lot in training. I don’t train the athletes mentally but I see through training that they are mentally strong or weak.

"In the process, one of the formulas of intervention is to walk with them in their training, and by walking with them, I’m indirectly helping them to a stronger mindset,” Sang said.

On his part, Geoffrey Kamworor also spoke on the importance of having a stronger mindset that has enabled him to be aware of the potential he carries.

“I always believe in what I have done and I always tell myself that I have done the right thing for this race, this competition.

“I know the race from history, I know what people have run here and I know what I want to run,” Kamworor said.

On his part, former world marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge also insisted that having a strong mindset has enabled him to achieve major milestones in his career.

"Mindset is what makes me work hard even when I really don’t feel like pushing harder. However, I feel that I need to move and I trust because I know that pain up there is where success is and that’s why I’m still pushing. If I don’t actually rule my mind then it will rule me,” Kipchoge said.
