Stephen Eloji, Prosper Ekporere, and Bashiru Abdullahi made the 110m Hurdles quarterfinals in their respective heats at the NCAA West Preliminaries.
Eloji is one of Nigeria's most improved athletes this season, and he backed it up again with another impressive win in the men's 110m Hurdles, stopping the clock in a windy 13.60s.
The Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) sophomore student has been in exceptional form this season, breaking his Personal Best (PB) severally.
He ran a C-USA record of 12.50s t win the C-USA Championships, so punching a ticket to the NCAA Championships will be a huge confidence boost for the talented athlete.
Ekporere is also having his best career season since his debut for Liberty University in January. He clocked a windy 13.67s, also securing a spot in the 110m Hurdles quarterfinals.
Abdullahi competing for the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA), clocked 13.73s to finish ninth overall and advance to the quarterfinals, making it a hat-trick of Nigerians that will be competing.
The senior at UTSA will be vying to make his second appearance at the NCAA Championships after reaching the semifinals last year.
