Ese Brume and other global medallists set to headline Botswana Golden Grand Prix.
Nigeria's long jump queen Ese Brume, will finally be making her 2023 debut in the long jump event at the Botswana Grand Prix on April 29th.
The Commonwealth champion will headline the event, having other top African jumpers on the list. They are Burkina Faso's Marthe Koala, Egypt's Esraa Owis, and South Africa's Lene Peens, amongst others.
Brume is one of the world's top athletics stars registered to compete at the meet, and others include multiple World champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in the 100m and US sensation Sha'Carri Richardson in the 200m.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will kickoff her 2023 season, as Ferdinand Omanyala targets breaking his AR at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix.
While in the men's events, Africa's fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala and world silver medallist Marvin Bracy will go head-to-head in the 100m.
Homeboy and world junior 100m record holder Letsile Tebogo is also confirmed to be at the meet. Last year, he ran a sub-10s time for the first time in his career at the meet and will be gunning to drop sub-20s in the 200m this time.

The spotlight will be on former Olympic champion Kirani James in the men's 400m, with home legend Isaac Makwala his closest rival.
Brume has competed twice this year, first kicking off her season at the Texas Relays as part of a 4x100m relay team of Annie Tagoe, Nigerian international Haisha Bisiolu, and British international and fellow jumper Lorraine Ugen, finishing seventh in their heat in 42.07s.

Larissa Lapichino won the long jump silver medal at the 2023 European Indoor Championships, soaring to an Italian record of 6.97m. She has now revealed who her strongest competitors are ahead of the World Championships in Budapest.
Six days later, she raced in the 400m at the Cameron Burrell Alumni Invitational, Texas, stopping the clock at 57.31s for a fourth-place finish in her heat.
She will aim to officially begin her season in her trademark event in Botswana, targeting a brilliant distance as she fine-tunes her preparations ahead of the World Championships in Budapest this summer.
