Two-time world 200m champion Shericka Jackson yet again postponed her 2024 season opener after skipping her first.
The Jamaican initially intended to open her season on January 20 at the JAAA Puma Fuller Anderson Development Meet in Angels, Spanish Town but did not show up for the event. She was set to compete in the women’s 60m at GC Foster College alongside some of the elite sprinters.

Athletics fans eagerly await Shericka Jackson to open her season on Saturday after postponing it for a week.
However, her withdrawal from the event was confirmed by Bruce James, president of Jackson’s MVP Track Club. The president emphasised that they want to take a cautious approach to Jackson’s season debut this year.
“We want to make sure she was feeling at her best before she starts competing for 2024. We anticipated she should be competing very quickly,” James said.
