Lausanne Diamond League: Femke Bol out to reassert authority in 400m hurdles after Olympics disappointment
Femke Bol has won the past three editions of the Lausanne Diamond League and will be out to maintain her winning streak on Thursday.
Bol clocked an astonishing 52.25 seconds stepping ahead of the competition with unmatched speed and precision.
"I´m still in great shape, with no injuries or sickness, which is really positive. The race today was great with a meeting record. The 4x400 mixed relay at the Games was all about going for a medal. When I got the stick and saw where the others were, I knew it was doable," Bol explained after the race.
The race unfolded with Bol demonstrating her signature burst in the last two hundred meters .
"I pushed hard in the last two hundred meters, and the energy from the crowd and my teammates was incredible. It was an emotional experience, especially after such a challenging season, and celebrating together with everyone made it even more special," she added.
Behind Bol, the competition was fierce. Rushell Clayton, not far behind, clocked in at 53.32 seconds, securing a commendable second place.
