Ferdinand Omanyala, Faith Kipyegon, and co. have finally learnt of the busy 2024 World Athletics Continental Tour calendar.

World Athletics has announced the 2024 World Athletics Continental Tour calendar with the first meeting starting in Australia.

As reported by World Athletics, more than 190 meetings are included in next year’s tour, which is divided into four levels – Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Challenger with the status of each meeting being determined by the quality of competition and prize money on offer.

The tour’s top tier comprises 12 events while the full calendar also currently includes 27 Silver, 62 Bronze, and 89 Challenger meetings and will be added to as the season progresses.

Gold-level action kicks off in Melbourne, Australia, on February 15 when the Maurie Plant Meet will again welcome some of the world’s top athletes to the Victorian capital.

After the event in Melbourne, the next Gold level meeting takes place in Gaborone in Botswana on April 14, before stops in Nairobi in Kenya (April 20), Los Angeles in USA (May 18), Tokyo in Japan (May 19) and Ostrava in Czechia (May 28).

The Gold tour will then continue to New York in the USA (June 9), Turku in Finland (June 18), Bydgoszcz in Poland (June 21), Hengelo in the Netherlands (July 7), and Szekesfehervar in Hungary (July 9).

Following the Olympics, Zagreb in Croatia will welcome athletes for the final Continental Tour Gold meeting of the season on September 8.

June 9– USATF New York City Grand Prix, New York (USA)

June 18– Paavo Nurmi Games, Turku (FIN)

June 21– Irena Szewinska Memorial, Bydgoszcz (POL)

July 7– FBK Games, Hengelo (NED)

July 9– Gyulai István Memorial, Szekesfehervar (HUN)

September 8– Memorial Borisa Hanzekovica, Zagreb (CRO)
