Ferdinand Omanyala is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to be in top shape for the 2024 season following his visit to a state-of-the-art performance centre in Austria.

Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has made a stop at the state-of-the-art Red Bull Athlete Performance Centre in Salzburg, Austria for further tests which will help maximize his potential.

Omanyala is enjoying a good start to his season after back-to-back 60m indoor national records in France in over a week.

The Commonwealth champion retained his title at the Meeting de Paris Indoor event in a national record of 6.51 seconds on Sunday, coming just 10 days after he had shattered his own national record by running 6.52 seconds at the Elite Indoor Track Meeting in Miramas.

With next month’s World Indoor Championships in Glasgow firmly in his sights now, Omanyala has sought to improve every aspect of his game and sought the services of the very best in Salzburg.

“We kick off our regeneration week at the Red Bull athlete performance centre in Salzburg, Austria,” Omanyala’s coach Geoffrey Kimani posted on social media.

Located in the shadow of the Eastern Alps, the Athlete Performance Center is open to all Red Bull-sponsored athletes, where they can be evaluated, worked with and looked after by a team of performance and medical experts, with the aim of maximising individual potential, increasing performance and injury prevention.

Coaches, experts and medical staff who work in the fields of strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, mental performance, nutrition, research and development and environmental consulting help the athletes with the aim of delivering world class results.

Biomechanics tests, which will be conducted on Omanyala, help to prevent injury and include analysis on athletes whose sports involve complex body movements.

Omanyala has taken his preparations a notch higher since teaming up with Kimani late last year, embracing technology to boost his performance levels, as he aims to win a medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
