Ferdinand Omanyala has expressed interest in having his son become a sprinter like him but noted that he will not force him to do what he does not want.
Commonwealth Games 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala has fingers crossed to have his son, Quinton Omanyala, become a sprinter just like him.
However, the fastest man in Africa is cautious not to force his son to become like him and is keen on letting his son pursue his interests.
He explained that, however, when they go to the gym, his son is always eager to do things and he does them so well as if he had been practicing before.

“I’m hoping that he becomes an athlete but I won’t force him to do what he doesn’t want to do. But every time I take him to the gym he’s always doing these things like he has been doing them before. I’m really hoping that he becomes a sprinter,” Omanyala said concerning his son.
The 28-year-old added that, unlike the previous years, he now gets time to spend with his family. He explained that while working under his previous coach, Duncan Ayiemba, they would train for close to seven hours a day and he could not spend a lot of time with his family.
However, with his new coach, Geoffrey Kimani, Omanyala shared that they train for a maximum of four hours and that gives him ample time with his family.
