Africa 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala believes his confidence poses a threat to his opponents and instills some form of fear in them before competitions.
Omanyala, the second fastest man in the world so far this year, noted that having confidence also ensures that he is able to go into the race with a winning mentality, and in such instances, he is able to deliver what he promises.

The national trials for the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary are scheduled for Friday to Saturday (July 7-8).
“I never want to go into a race thinking about how big my opponents are because that will instill fear in me.
"Instead of being the victim, I always work towards ensuring I’m confident enough so I can pose a threat to my opponents and intimidate them,” Omanyala said.
He also exuded confidence about winning a gold medal for Kenya and Africa at the upcoming World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. If he delivers, Omanyala will be the first African ever to win a medal at the global event.
“My fans should expect a gold medal from me…that’s what I’m going for. It will be the first medal for Africa,” he bullishly said.
