Commonwealth Games 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala has released his calendar of events for the last half of the year.

Omanyala, 27, will start off his campaign with the Diamond League Meeting in Monaco on Friday, July 21 before heading to the Josko Lauf Meet in Austria on Saturday, July 29.

After the two events, he will head to the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary from August 19 to 27 where he intends to make history by becoming the first African to win a gold medal at the global show.

From the World Championships, Omanyala will then head to the Xiamen Diamond League Meeting in China on Sunday, September 3. After the event, he will proceed to the Diamond League Meeting Final in Oregon, USA.

In a post on his Twitter page, Omanyala said: “Here is my calendar for the last part of season 2023! If you have been praying for my calendars, this is the calendar we need to pray for the most because these races will carry so much weight and history after that finish line. A man's heart plans his course but the Lord determines his steps. May the Lord be with me.”

This year, Omanyala has been in great form and he has managed to win eight of the 11 races he has competed in so far. His last race was during the World Championships National Trials where he ran the third-fastest time in the world so far this year (9.85).
