Forbes 30 Under 30: The Woodhalls, Duplantis, and Gabby Thomas make prestigious league of Sports list

Following an iconic 2024 seasons, The Woodhalls, Mondo Duplantis, and Gabby Thomas' have been recognised in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Sports list.

Paris Olympic champions Tara Davis and Hunter Woodhall, Mondo Duplantis, and Gabby Thomas have been named in the prestigious league of Forbes 30 Under 30 Sports list.

The Forbes 30 Under 30 list recognises the most influential sportspeople in North America who had outstanding years in their respective fields and made global impacts.  

Following brilliant performances at the Paris Games, The Woodhalls were nicknamed the 'Golden Couple' of the Olympics and Paralympics after winning gold medals in their various events.

First, Tara soared to the women's long jump title, while her husband Hunter, a US double-amputee sprinter, propelled his prosthetic blades to Paralympic gold in the T62 400m.

Thomas had an exceptional 2024 season culminating at the Paris Olympics, where she won three gold medals in the 200m, 4x100m, and 4x100m to earn bragging rights as track and field's 'Golden Queen' at the Games.

The Harvard University graduate also had five sub-22s in the 200m this season, topped by a world-leading 21.78s clocked in the semifinals at the US Olympic Trials.

For her outstanding performances, she was voted winner of the USATF Jackie Joyner-Kersee Award - the highest honour awarded to the best American athlete in a season.

Duplantis retained his Olympic pole vault title from Tokyo 2020 with a height of 6.00m after Sam Kendricks failed to clear higher than 5.95m. He then jumped 6.10m to break the Olympic Record set by Thiago Braz at the Rio 2016 Games and finally jumped 6.25m on his third attempt at that height, setting a new world record.

He surpassed his world record three times during the season, eventually taking it to 6.26m to win the Diamond League title in Brussels.

The trio are the only track and field stars to make the list. Other sports personalities include WNBA standout Caitlyn Clark and Bolton Celtics forward Jayson Tatum.
