Godson Brume officially joined Nigeria's elite league of sub-10s runners, obliterating his PB with a new 9.93s at the NCAA Championships.
Godson Brume has become the fourteenth fastest Nigerian sprinter in history after bolting to a blistering 9.93s to win his stacked 100m semifinal and qualify for the final at the NCAA Championships.
Consequently, the Louisiana State University sophomore student obliterated his previous Personal Best (PB) of 10.04s, surpassed the World Championships qualifying standard of 10.00s, and is now the second-fastest in his school's history.

Godson Brume's success didn't just suddenly spring out, as he has consistently given the signs since the beginning of the season for anyone who cared to notice. His brilliant performances at the SEC Championships is just the beginning of the famous quote 'the underdog has become the top dog'.
His time is also the fourth-fastest in Nigerian history behind Olusoji Fasuba's (9.85s), Divine Oduduru's (9.86s), and Udodi Onwuzurike's 9.92s.
Brume blazed to win his 100m semifinal, inspired by compatriot Favour Ashe, who had earlier clocked a PB and sub-10s of 9.96s to win his race and qualify for the final. Udodi Onwuzurike also advanced with 10.04s for a fourth-place finish behind Brume.
