Australian teen sensation Gout Gout produced another exceptional performance to continue living up to the hype as the heir to Usain Bolt's throne.
Sprint sensation Gout Gout deemed the heir to Usain Bolt's throne has backed up his hype with another solid performance by becoming the fastest Australian 200m sprinter in 31 years.
Gout Gout ran a blazing time of 20.29s (1.2) to breathtakingly take down Aidan Murphy’s 20.41s Australian U20 record at the Queensland School Championships.
The 16-year-old's record-breaking performance makes him the fastest Australian since 1993, and the fourth-fastest in Australian and World U18 history behind Erriyon Knighton (19.84s), Usain Bolt (20.13s), and Puripol Boonson (20.19s), thus further stamping his name as a future world beater just like Bolt.
In August, Gout Gout won the silver medal behind South Africa's Bayanda Walaza at the world U20 championships in Lima and recently signed a professional contract with Adidas, which makes him highly rated as the next big name in the men's sprint.
