All three athletes are set to compete at their first Olympic Games having represented their country at global and continental championships previously.
The British Olympic Association (BOA) has officially named the initial three marathon athletes selected for the athletics team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The trio are Charlotte Purdue, coached by Nic Bideau and representing Aldershot Farnham and District, Calli Hauger-Thackery from Hallamshire, and Phil Sesemann, coached by Andrew Henderson and affiliated with Leeds City.
Phil Sesemann secured his spot in the men's marathon by surpassing the qualification standard with an impressive time of 2:08:04 at the Seville marathon earlier this month.

All three athletes are poised to make their Olympic debut, having previously represented their country at global and continental championships.
They are among the first members of the Team GB athletics squad to be announced, with the selection policy specifying that athletes planning to compete in a marathon after February 19, 2024, will only be considered for the third round of selection on April 22, 2024.
Mark England, Team GB Chef de Mission, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It is great to welcome Charlotte, Calli, and Phil to Team GB for Paris 2024."
