The two-time World 5000m champion is just fresh from winning the New York City Marathon on Sunday, her third marathon since she made a switch to the full marathon and she is anticipating more wins.

Obiri clocked 2:27:23 to finish first ahead of Letesenbet Gidey and defending champion Sharon Lokedi who finished second and third respectively.
“This win means a lot to me because winning in Boston and coming back here (New York City) to win shows that I have a lot of experience in a marathon.

"It shows that I can go to another marathon and also win and it gives me a lot of hope concerning my future,” Obiri said.

The former World 10,000m bronze medallist made her debut over the full marathon last year in the streets of New York City and managed a sixth-place finish in 2:25:49.
She then opened her season at the Boston Marathon earlier this year and won her first title over the 42km distance. Obiri was then confirmed for the New York City Marathon where she also destroyed a strong field to clinch top honours.
