The 20-year-old has explained how he is managing to keep himself grounded and not let things get to him amid the doping scandal.
American sprinter Erriyon Knighton has opened up about how he manages to stay grounded amid the doping saga that has cost him this season.
Earlier this year, Knighton tested positive for trenbolone, a banned substance used for muscle growth, but he was cleared to compete at the U.S. Olympic trials after an independent arbitrator's ruling.
The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) noted that the independent arbitrator ruled that the world 200m silver medallist might have digested the banned substance by eating contaminated meat.

However, after the Paris Olympic Games where he finished fourth in the final of the men’s 200m, The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) announced in a statement that they would be appealing his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Knighton seems unfazed by the news and he has since been competing and posting great times in his races. After the Olympic Games, he raced at the Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne where he finished an impressive second behind Letsile Tebogo.
The 20-year-old then raced at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia where he finished fourth and rounded up the podium at the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich.
"This is what I do, I mean, I have always been that type of athlete to come out here and compete and I just listen to my coach and I’m grateful that I’m still here running. I just want to finish the season with a season-best or a personal best, that’s all I can really ask for,” Knighton told Citius Mag.
He was proud about the time posted at the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich but noted that he will work on the curve ahead of the final in Brussels.
“I feel good, still just keeping my season rolling and trying to stay healthy and onto the next one I mean we had a great one and I had a great feeling. I could have stayed a little bit calm coming down the home straight, I feel like that’s the only thing I have to critique in the race, other than that, I feel good. I know every time I step on the track, we have to bring out the best in each other so I like to go against a lot of competition.”
