A big party could be in the offing for World 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson’s fans if she decides to execute some of her plans.

World 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson is mulling over the possibility of doing a celebratory tour after what has been a brilliant 2023 season that has seen her win two gold medals and a bronze.

Richardson has been the most consistent 100m runner this year given the eight fastest 100m times of 2023, she owns five, with the earliest of those coming back in May when she ran 10.76 with the outdoor season still in its infancy.

The difference is stark when compared to just a year earlier, where Richardson’s best 2022 time of 10.85 put her only 32nd highest on that year’s list and the athlete only registered three times in the top 100.

Unlike in previous years, where the American has shone brightly but struggled to hold onto any rhythm throughout the season, 2023 has seen Richardson peak at the optimal time.

Her 10.65 when winning gold at the 2023 World Championship in Budapest, Hungary was a true champion’s performance as she pulled out her very best when it mattered most.

Casting a deeper look at 2023, you can see that of her top five times this year, four have come between July and August and eight of her top 10 also arrived during the month prior to, or of the, World Athletics Championships.

“Hard work pays off, never giving up pays off, keeping your faith pays off, being in tune with the A-Star players pays off. So, I’m just grateful and knowing that there is so much to come and there is so much more I can craft and give so I’m excited,” Richardson said on Real Talk With Tee.

The 23-year-old also added the 200m bronze and 4x100m relay gold to her collection of medals in 2023 which also includes three Diamond League wins in 100m and she is mulling over doing a celebratory tour back home to celebrate the remarkable season with her fans.

“It could be coming, we never know but definitely I would start with where I am from what built me up and if I do, I will start with Dallas,” she added.

Richardson will be among the star attractions at this weekend’s Diamond League finale, the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon and she is excited to be able to complete the season on home turf.

“It is really exciting being on home soil like Diamond League final being there (Eugene) it makes me excited. It makes me feel like my home turf to finish the season at home so that I can get home quicker,” she said.

In Eugene, Richardson will lock horns with Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson and Ivory Coast’s Marie Josee Ta Lou, who are also among the top three fastest women in the world so far this year.
