A talented discus thrower, Ruqqayah Mustapha, has revealed that she started Discuss throwing for fun because of the unpopularity of the sport.

The students were picked at the trials held in Benin City, Edo State.
Pulse Sports reported that Nigeria will participate alongside other nations in the competition that will take place from July 27 to August 8 in Chengdu, China.

"I was stigmatized when i started Discus"
The University of Ilorin student told Pulse Sports Nigeria that she suffered from stigmatization when she started discus.
She said, "Sincerely, I started for fun, it is not a popular sport. I got curious and I started enjoying it. It's been a battle, as an indigene of Ilorin and a female at that."
Ruqqayah Mustapha will be joining Musa Nurain, Usman Qudus, Sofiat Obanishola (badminton players), and Aderibigbe Fareedah (taekwondo) to fly the Unilorin flag in China.

Pulse Sports Nigeria reported that Musa Nurain that he is going to China to set records.
He said, "Nothing but the best, it’s a great opportunity to head out there to become the fastest student in the world. I’ll be competing with the fastest students across the globe so I have to be there with my A-game."
