The 23-year-old has only lost one 100m race, where he finished second in an impressive 9.82 at the Jamaican Olympic trials. Kishane Thompson carried the day at the event, clocking a world-leading time of 9.77 to win the race.

Seville was going into the trials confident after beating Noah Lyles at the Racers Grand Prix, where he stopped the clock at 9.82 ahead of Lyles who clocked 9.83. In the 200m, Seville has raced sparingly, winning the race at the Velocity Fest 14 before also reigning supreme in the 400m at the Camperdown Classics.

Seville returns to the Olympic Games after a fourth-place finish in the semifinal of the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. His time could not take him to the final of the 100m. Seville was also part of the relay team that finished fourth at the Olympic Games.

The Jamaican sprint sensation has gained experience over time and will be out to continue where he left from. He faces a stern test from Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala, the fastest American this year Noah Lyles and defending champion Marcel Jacobs.
