Monaco holds a special place in Tamberi's journey, marking both his first Diamond League victory in 2016 and a painful moment of setback due to a severe injury that dashed his Olympic dreams for Rio de Janeiro that year.

"Tamberi has returned to the Monaco Diamond League several times since 2016, but has yet to claim another victory in the Stade Louis II. He will be out to set the record straight on July 12th, in a meeting which comes just weeks before his Olympic title defence in Paris," the Diamond League announced.
