Paralympics champion Hunter Woodhall has disclosed how he is finding it tough with wife Tara Davis-Woodhall after making major adjustments in their lives.

Paralympics champion Hunter Woodhall has shared how he and his wife Tara Davis-Woodhall, the Olympics long jump champion, are finding it hard to adjust to a new city.

The couple moved to Kansas City following their Paralympics and Olympics heroics in Paris, where both won gold, after their long-time coach Travis Geopfert relocated to take up a role as the Track and Field Cross-Country coach at the Kansas University.

Relocating became even more necessary for the couple when Tara Davis-Woodhall also joined Kansas University as an assistant coach.

However, moving to a new city while trying to keep up with their packed schedules is proving too much for the two and Hunter Woodhall has opened up about the hardships of their new life, while using the opportunity to encourage others who may be going through similar situations.

"Life update: it’s not easy. Been having a tough time recently. With the move, crazy schedules, and life’s pace it’s hard to find a new normal. It’s hard to get back in the swing of things, but we’re getting there," he posted on Instagram.

"Apart from all this, there has been a silver lining. We have the most incredible friends and family in our life that have been getting us through. Life is hard, and it’s okay to not always feel your best. Things will get better, I just gotta keep reminding myself of that," he added.

Hunter has enjoyed a good season on track after winning a gold medal in the men’s 400m T-62 at the Paris Paralympics, his first at the Games, before adding bronze in 4x100m mixed relay.

His wife Tara was also among the standout performers at the Paris Olympics where she clinched gold in high jump which has earned her two nominations at the USATF awards, being the Female Athlete of the Year and Most Dominant Performer.

She is also among the nominees for the World Athletics Female of the Year Award in the field events category.
