The 2015 world champion is looking to hit and stay into the high 80s which will get him in top shape ahead of the World Championships
After his exploits, he encountered a niggly groin injury which derailed him but he has promised to slowly make a return.
Last year was a mixed season for him where he failed to make it to the final at the World Championships in Oregon. However, he bagged a silver medal at the Kip Keino Classic and won bronze at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
In a post on his Facebook page, he uploaded a video in training and captioned it: “Always trying to get back the lost rhythm and speed, onwards and upward and trying again. Little by little and it’s going to be coming soon. Good to have the feeling now.”
This year, Yego has not been off to a good start but maybe things will shape up as the track and field season intensifies. He opened his season at the Diamond League Meeting in Doha, Qatar and he failed to reach the final.
