Justin Gatlin gives insightful advice to Noah Lyles as the American seeks to win four medals at the Olympic Games and a gold medal at the World Indoor Championships.

Four-time World champion Justin Gatlin has some advice for triple World champion Noah Lyles as he seeks to make history this year too.

Lyles will be looking to bag his first gold medal at the World Indoor Championships and later bag four medals at the Olympic Games in Paris, France.

If he achieves his targets, Lyles will become the first man to win triple gold at the World Championships, a gold medal at the indoor championships, and three gold medals at the Olympic Games.

However, Gatlin, a former Olympic champion, explained that at the moment, he does not see anyone who can achieve the milestones and if Lyles has to do it, he should step up his game.

“He would be one of one…Noah, talk to your ish dog. That boy be talking, I’ll tell you right now that he tells his whole game plan in the post conferences.

“It’s going to take a dog, it’s going to take someone who says ‘You know what? Enough is enough and I’m coming to punch this dude in the mouth.

“That’s the mentality that they have to possess and right now, I’m not seeing anyone who is going to step up and do that,” Gatlin said.

Meanwhile, Lyles has proven to be in great shape as he started his season with back-to-back wins. The American opened his season at the Florida Collegiate Invitational in Gainesville.

Lyles stunned his opponents, mostly college students to take top honours in the race, clocking 6.63 to claim the top prize. Eric Harrison finished second as Caleb Shakespeare completed the podium.

The two-time World 200m champion then proceeded to the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, where Lyles clocked a meeting record of 6.44 victory over 60m at the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting in Boston.
