World 100m champion Fred Kerley beat a strong field of sprinters at the Rabat Diamond League on Sunday as Ferdinand Omanyala settled for third place.
The race attracted competition from Diamond League champion Trayvon Bromell, the second fastest man in history, Yohan Blake and World U-20 Champion Letslie Tebogo.
Kerley posted 9.94 seconds as South Africa’s Akani Simbine came second in a time of 9.99 seconds, while Omanyala was third in 10.05.
Omanyala remains the world’s fastest man this year after posting a world lead time of 9.84 at the 2023 Kip Keino Classic on May 13.
Kerley has posted impressive performances in his three 100m races this year.
He has consistently beaten the 9.95 barrier in all the races. As a result, he looks like a strong contender to defend his 100m crown ahead of the August World Athletics Championships in Budapest in August.
The Diamond League season returns on Friday in Florence, Italy.
