Letsile Tebogo has revealed the relationship he shares with Ferdinand Omanyala and his thoughts on who is a better athlete between himself and Omanyala.
Reigning World 100m silver medallist Letsile Tebogo has spoken on the relationship he shares with Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala.
The Commonwealth Games champion and the World 200m bronze medallist have faced off against each other in several races. Last season, the two clashed in several races including the Botswana Golden Grand Prix and the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, and Diamond League Meetings.
Omanyala edged Tebogo at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix and later Tebogo defeated Omanyala at the Hungarian capital. Tebogo finished second in the 100m while Omanyala faded to finish a disappointing seventh at the event.

“From my side, I just see a brother who always pushes me to reach my limit as I also push him to reach his limit.
“I believe that if we stick together, there’s more to come from Africa unless we break apart and then there’s no goal to be reached in the continent,” Tebogo told Sport On, a sports program on Nation.
Tebogo is also impressed by the progress of African sprinters and he noted that things are looking up. The Botswanan wunderkind also noted that, unlike many African sprinters, he is not looking to relocate and train in the US.
“I think so far so good, everyone is on board and some of the European countries are invested in knowing about the sprints in Africa.
“When I came into the sport, I sat down and analysed the whole thing and I saw that a lot of African sprinters go to the US and after a while, they burn out.
“I haven’t found out what the problem is but one thing for sure is that I’m not going to train in the US,” Tebogo said.
