In the foggy weather, more than 10 men lined up at the starting line of the marathon in Chororget with the hope of reigning supreme but it was Kiprop who was the lucky man.

Kiprop was in the leading pack for the better part of the race and decided to open a huge gap with about 15km to go. He looked very comfortable as he went on to cut the tape first in a time of 2:13:19.
Charles Kimeli followed closely as he clocked 2:14:26 as Edwin Yator completed the podium in a time of 2:14:46.
The women’s race saw Chepkorir clinch top honours in style after putting in the effort. She clocked 2:32:36 to cross the finish line first ahead of Lina Kaino who clocked 2:34:27 to finish second. Caroline Kimosop completed the podium after clocking 2:36:36.

ATHLETICS Brigid Kosgei expresses interest in making Kenya's marathon team to Olympics
Former world marathon record holder Brigid Kosgei has shared her interest in being selected in the marathon team for the Olympic Games.
The men’s 10km race saw Reuben Longosiwa take top honours in the race, clocking 28:32 to cross the finish line. Nelson Langat and Johana Erot finished second and third in respective times of 28:44 and 28:46.
The women’s race was a one-woman show as Miriam Chebet shook off the competition to take the top prize in 32:53.
Her closest challenger, Christine Chesire, finished distant second in a time of 33:09. Belinda Chemutai sealed the podium after clocking 33:18.
