Good news for Kishane Thompson, Shericka Jackson & Co as Jamaica's federation announces groundbreaking deal
The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association has made a huge milestone that comes as great news to top athletes like Shericka Jackson and Kishane Thompson among others.
In the post, she wrote: “1st of December…I am manifesting unexpected blessings, financial stability, peace of mind, emotional healing and strength. May this month bring me peace and overflowing happiness and success.”
The fastest woman alive has struggled to make an impact this season due to an Achilles tendon injury setback she faced since the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
This season, she started off with a ninth-place finish at the Prefontaine Classic, a Diamond League Meeting in Eugene. Elaine then went on to finish distant ninth at the USATF New York City Grand Prix and was helped off the track. That was the last time she was seen competing and she was also forced to let go of her dream of defending her Olympic titles in Paris.
She made a couple of developments since then including parting ways with her coach Reynaldo Walcott. This was announced shortly after Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce also parted ways with coach Walcott.
She also travelled to Florida for treatment amid speculation that she had found a new home under coach Rana Reider. Gregory Haughton had started the speculation, but he came out and clarified what he meant after Elaine’s team reached out to him.
However, he maintained that Elaine Thompson-Herah might still be relocating to Florida despite her team adamantly refuting the claims.

'The trials woke me up' - Usain Bolt on how losing to Yohan Blake during the London Olympic trials motivated him to defend his titles
Bolt was under immense pressure after losing out to rival Yohan Blake during the trials but silenced his critics in the competition proper
“I posted a video entitled Elaine Thompson Herah has found a new home, which in my mind was very good news. The day before I dropped the video, I received a call stating that Elaine was in Florida getting treatment and she was also a part of a particular training camp, I then made some calls to confirm the first call I got, and it was confirmed multiple times. I even asked two of the sources how sure are you of the info and both said 90% sure which in turn I reported as such,” Haughton said in a statement.
“At the end of the day, I respected the fact the call was made, and I also appreciated the fact that they took the time to listen to what I had to say regarding my intentions behind it all. It must be said that the personnel from Elaine's team stated that the video was not completely accurate and adamantly refuted any claims being made about Elaine having an official new camp.
Yes, Elaine is in Florida getting treatment, yes Elaine may have associates that are associated with the camp in question, but let it be heard here as I set the record straight, Elaine has not found a new home plain and simple,” he added.
