Gabby Thomas has bragged about one thing that she has done that most sprinters are yet to accomplish.
Triple Olympic champion Gabby Thomas has bragged about the one thing that she has managed to accomplish that most sprinters are yet to get done.
The world 200m silver medallist revealed that most sprinters only do light running and their training is mostly focused on other aspects. She told US Weekly that most of the time, people tend to get surprised when she says that during their training, they do not run a lot.
She revealed that a sprinter running a mile during training is something unique and bragged about being one of the sprinters who has managed to do that. Gabby Thomas added that she shrugs off requests from people who ask her to go for runs with her.

Sha'Carri Richardson agrees with Usain Bolt and Allyson Felix on the 'intense' nature of the Jamaican-American track & field rivalry
Sha'Carri Richardson, who herself has found herself competing with elite Jamaican stars like Shericka Jackson, has weighed in on the rivarly that exisists between the USA and the Carribean nation.
“People are surprised we don’t run much. We don’t run more than a mile, and the fact that I’ve run a mile in my life is really a lot for a sprinter. Most people haven’t even done that,” Thomas said in an interview with US Weekly at the 38th Annual Footwear Achievement Awards at Casa Cipriani.
“So when people ask us, ‘Do you want to go on a run?’ The answer is always, ‘No, we don’t do that.’”
She revealed that working on her mental strength was the one thing she focused on in the build up to the Paris Olympic Games. Mental health plays a huge role in the success of a sprinter and Gabby Thomas also emphasised on that.
Most sprinters play with the mindsets of their opponents and once an athlete conquers their opponent’s mind, then they would have already won the race.
Teasing people’s mindsets could be through trash talking or engaging in pre-race stunts that leave the crowds and opponents surprised, a good example being Noah Lyles.
“Getting myself into a competitive mindset, that takes years of mental training. I’m not gonna lie. Being ready mentally for Paris was five years in the making of training myself, physically, mentally,” Gabby Thomas said.
