Life as an athlete is a daunting task itself, but combining it as a mother of three and a graduate student, means you have to be superhuman.

Former world 100mH champion Nia Ali has openly cried out on the challenges she's facing as an athlete, a graduate student, and a mother of three.

The highly experienced and talented hurdler had a heartbreaking end to the 2024 season, having missed out on the US Olympic team to Paris by a spot after finishing fourth at the trials in 12.37s.

Despite the heartbreak, Ali went on to compete in a number of European meets before ending her season abruptly to focus and regroup for next year.

In a recent post on her X page, the 36-year-old stated her reality now has been challenging with limited help.

"My house is CRAZY right now, I’m doing a masters program, I’m still running, my man is running, I have home schooled and brick and mortar schooled children, we are away from home with very limited help, I’m chasing my tail on my checklist everyday, and it’s fall training."

Ali has been one of the most consistent and respected names in women's track since she burst into the scene in 2014, after winning her first global title at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot.

She successfully defended her world 60m title in Portland two years later, before becoming Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallist and the 2019 World 100mH Champion.

She has a son, Titus Maximus, with American Olympian Michael Tinsley. In June 2018, she had a daughter with her present partner, Canadian multiple Olympic medallist Andre De Grasse, and a second child with him in May 2021.
