Noah Lyles hopes to claim his third straight victory in the 200m after being confirmed for the NYC Grand Prix.
Triple World Champion Noah Lyles has been confirmed for the NYC Grand Prix where he is set to compete in the men’s 200m.
The event, a World Athletics’ Continental Tour Gold, is scheduled for Sunday, June 9 and Lyles hopes to make an impact once again. According to the event organisers, the two-time World 200m champion will be joined by Gabby Thomas, and Rai Benjamin who are also set to return to Icahn Stadium.

The American will be attempting his third-straight victory at the event as he looks to have a great build-up towards the Olympic Games in Paris, France where he will be eyeing a quadruple.

Lyles had an eventful 2023 season where he became the first man since 2015 to win the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay at the World Athletics Championships. He stunned the whole world, winning the 100m and 200m gold medals and anchoring the America 4x100m relay team to victory in Budapest.
He goes to the Grand Prix following an amazing indoor tour where he captured his first National Indoor title at 60m, as well as silver medals in the 60m and 4x400m relay at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.
World 200m silver medallist Gabby Thomas has also been confirmed for the event. The American won silver and gold medals over 200m and as part of Team USA’s 4x100m relay, respectively in Budapest, Hungary and she hopes to continue her hot streak this season.
Making his USATF NYC Grand Prix debut, local favorite and second fastest 400m hurdler of all-time Rai Benjamin will be racing at Icahn Stadium for the first time since his high school days.
Benjamin won silver and gold medals in the 400m hurdles and 4x400m relay, respectively at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, a feat he also accomplished at 2019 and 2022 World Athletics Championships.
