Triple world champion Noah Lyles has lauded Botswanan Letsile Tebogo as one of the best sprinters he has raced against.
Lyles locked horns with Tebogo at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, where the American won the gold medal in stunning fashion, clocking a personal best time of 9.83 to cross the finish line.
Tebogo came in second to take silver, stopping the clock at 9.88 to cross the finish line. Great Britain’s Zharnel Hughes completed the podium in the race.

Speaking about the youngster, the three-time world 200m champion told Time Magazine: “He’s definitely a once-in-a-generation talent.”
Asked if he would want to compete against the 21-year-old again, Lyles noted that he is not afraid of the competition and he would love to race with anyone who would want to compete against him.
“I’m here to race anybody who wants it. The deeper the field, the better I run. I know I’m going to win. Because I’m never going to break nerve,” he added.

Meanwhile, Lyles and Tebogo have both been off to great starts to their seasons, with Tebogo having to slow down his season after he lost his mother Seratiwa Tebogo after the USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix.
He just resumed competition at the African Championships, where he competed in the men’s 100m but was disqualified in the semifinal and later proceeded to compete in the 4x100m.
Meanwhile, Lyles added that he always approaches races with passion and smiles on his face, something that has helped him achieve great milestones in his career.

“It just means that I’m happy. I love to do what I do. And that’s a dangerous guy.”
