Noah Lyles put rivalry aside as he offered support to NFL star Tyreek Hill following his arrest in Miami even as they continue their feud over a possible sprint showdown.

Olympics 100m champion Noah Lyles has showed support to Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill after the NFL star was arrested on Sunday before his team’ season opener.

As per the BBC, a video on ESPN showed Hill lying on his front on the ground being handcuffed by police near to the Dolphins' Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday for an alleged traffic offence.

He was later released and scored a touchdown in a 20-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, celebrating by pretending to be placed in handcuffs.

Hill had allegedly been arrested for speeding and several of his Dolphins team-mates had to stop and offer support.

Lyles also put the ongoing feud between the pair aside to offer support when he retweeted Robert Griffin’s post that stood in solidarity with the NFL star.

“Tyreek Hill should not have been forcibly driven to the ground, handcuffed and handled so aggressively for a minor traffic violation heading into the stadium before the game. Period,” Griffin’s post.

Lyles and Hill have been engaged in a public feud after the latter challenged the former to a 50m dash, claiming he would floor the world’s fastest man.

“Sign the contract and lock in that 50-yard race,” Hill recently told Lyles.

However, Lyles has refused to be drawn into what he calls ‘gimmicks’ and wants Hill to face him in a proper 100m duel that is sanctioned.

“You’re racing against someone who’s earned the title of ‘the world’s fastest man.’ If you want to challenge me, it has to be in my event,” said Lyles.
