Noah Lyles remains unfazed by a potential threat from Jamaicans despite Kishane Thompson clocking a season’s best at the Olympics trials in Kingston.
World 100m champion Noah Lyles is unbothered by the impressive time recorded by Jamaican Kishane Thompson at the Olympics trials.
Thompson managed a personal best 9.82 on Thursday in what was a statement of intent in the first round of the event and with his time better than what Lyles managed in the final of the US trials, the world champion was asked what he felt about it.
"I want to see what they do, I am trying to see something,” Lyles said of the Jamaican Olympics trials before adding: “Alright nice...Let's hope he stays healthy,” when told what Thompson managed.

The rivalry between Noah Lyles and Oblique Seville is building up nicely ahead of the Olympic Games as the world's fastest man has declared he's not losing again to the Jamaican in Paris.
Lyles timed 9.83 to win the final of the 100m at the US trials ahead of Kenny Bednarek and Fred Kerley as the three booked their Olympics ticket.
The 26-year-old had, however, managed a season’s best 9.80 in the semi-final which sets the stage for a great battle at the Olympics.
Lyles also sealed his Olympics ticket in the 200m as he bids to clinch his first gold medals at the Games following a bronze over the distance in Tokyo.
An epic battle is expected at the Olympics with Jamaicans looking to dethrone America who have been supreme since Usain Bolt retired.
Besides Thompson, Team Jamaica is also relying on Oblique Seville, a man Lyles knows too well after handing him a defeat at the Racers Grand Prix in Kingston, Jamaica on June 1, when he also clocked 9.82, while Ackeem Blake is also in the running.
