A host of Nigerian athletes are scheduled to compete at the American Track League series on Friday.

Nigeria's trio of Favour Ofili, Ruth Usoro, Dubem Nwachukwu, and other athletes are set to return to action on Friday, August 4th, at the Ed Murphy Classic in USA.

The meet is part of the American Track League series features top athletes such as Olympic women's 100m Hurdles champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, and former Olympic men's 400m champion Kirani James amongst others.

Ofili is scheduled to compete in the 200m, returning to racing since her disappointment at the NCAA Championships, where she failed to make the 100m and 200m finals.

The speedster will hope she's back to her best and can produce a fast time after an injury-plagued season.

Usoro, who has also been out of professional action for a while, will compete in the women's long jump gunning to fine-tune her preparations ahead of the World Championships in Budapest.

Ruth Usoro graduated from Texas Tech University as a legend

Nwachukwu will be running in his first race outside the NCAA, and since winning a silver medal at the Nigerian trials. A 44s time at the meet will be a confidence booster, gearing towards a memorable outing in Budapest.

Dubem Nwachukwu was exceptional as a 400m runner in the NCAA

He will have a strong competitor in Nigerian champion Chidi Okezie as they compete in the same heat and hope to push each other to run fast times.

Meanwhile, Ezekiel Nathaniel is confirmed to compete in the elite men's 400m Hurdles. The Nigerian Record holder is categorised as a top athlete in his event as he has one of the fastest times this season going to the World Championships.

Ezekiel Nathaniel is a standout-student athlete at Baylor University

Consequently, veteran sprinter Ogho Oghene-Egwero is surprisingly listed in the men's 100m.
