Elaine Thompson-Herah is set to lose her 200m Olympic title in France due to her recent Achilles injury.
The athlete sustained an Achilles injury on June 9th, a few weeks before the USATF New York City Grand Prix.

Injury Update: Elaine Thompson-Herah reportedly flies to Germany seeking medical solution
Elaine Thompson-Herah is reportedly in Germany to see one of the doctors that treated Usain Bolt.
She will be unable to compete in the 200m, which means a new Olympic champion in the 200-metre event in Paris will emerge.
Elaine to lose her Olympic title
The two-time defending Olympic champion is facing a setback even though she now holds the world records for the 100m sprint (10.54 seconds) and the 200m sprint (21.53 seconds).
According to Track & Field Gazette on X, “Elaine Thompson-Herah will not defend her Olympic 200m title in Paris!
“She is only entered to run the 100m at the Jamaican Olympic Trials, set to take place from June 27th to 30th. Her best finish this year over 100m was at the Prefontaine Classic, where she ran 11.30s.”
The report suggests that Elaine will not be able to defend her 200m title and will only participate in the 100m race.
Even though Thompson-Herah hadn't competed much this season, many still see her as a serious candidate for the 100m events at the Summer Olympics in Paris.
